The Rhea County Fair will be held Tuesday, August 8 – Saturday, August 12, 2023 at the Ag Center and Fairgrounds at 290 Harold Robbins Lane in Evensville, TN. Listed below is a schedule of events that are coordinated by UT/TSU Extension.
Livestock Shows
Goat, Sheep, Market Lamb and Beef Shows are open to youth in 4th-12th grade in Rhea, Cumberland, Roane, Bledsoe, Hamilton, Meigs, McMinn, Bradley, Monroe, Polk & Loudon counties.
Schedule of Events
- Tuesday, August 8
- 4-H Poultry Show & Sale (Open only to 4-Hers who received pullets through the Rhea County 4-H Chick Chain) – Livestock Barn
- Show registration – 5:00 p.m.
- Judging – 6:00 p.m.
- Sale – Immediately following
- 4-H Poultry Show & Sale (Open only to 4-Hers who received pullets through the Rhea County 4-H Chick Chain) – Livestock Barn
- Thursday, August 10
- 4-H Market Hog Show & Sale (Open only to 4-Hers who received pigs through the Rhea County 4-H Pig Project) – Livestock Barn
- All pigs should be on the grounds by 1:00 p.m.
- Show registration – 5:30 p.m.
- Show begins – 6:00 p.m.
- Sale – immediately following the show
- 4-H Market Hog Show & Sale (Open only to 4-Hers who received pigs through the Rhea County 4-H Pig Project) – Livestock Barn
- Friday, August 11
- Master Gardener building opens – 4:00-9:00 p.m.
- Registration & weigh-in for sheep and goat shows – 5:00 p.m. – Livestock Barn
- Goat Show begins – 6:00 p.m.
- Registered Sheep Show begins – immediately following Goat Show
- Commercial Sheep Show begins – immediately following Registered Sheep Show
- Market Lamb Show begins – immediately following Commercial Sheep Show
- Saturday, August 12
- Master Gardener building opens – 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Registration for Beef Show – 10:00 a.m. – Livestock Barn
- Registered Heifer show begins – 11:00 a.m. – Livestock Barn
- Commercial Heifer show begins – immediately following Registered Heifer show – Livestock Barn
- Canning Demonstration – Master Gardener building – Kinsey Hixson of UT/TSU Extension – 12:00 p.m.
